Introduction

Here is an EASY step-by-step tutorial on how to make light-up glass mirror art!

How-to Tutorial

1

Step1: Reverse your art!

First, choose a design then using your favorite photo editing software mirror the image (If using Android you may have to download an app to do this or find somewhere online).

Step2: Prep the BACK of the mirror and center for engraving

Prep the BACK SIDE of the mirror.  I do this by lightly wiping the backside with rubbing alcohol

Next I add the mirrored image to LaserPecer Design Space and adjust it in the preview so it will be centered.  Remember that the mirror surface should be down and the back of the mirror should be on top.

Step3: Engrave!

Now after making sure that the mirror is centered and that the back of the mirror is on top (mirrored surface is facing down) make sure to put on protective eyewear (always important especially when dealing with mirrors!)

I use 100% Power / 20% Depth / 1 Pass but this could differ based on the mirror you purchase.  These settings seem to work best for the mirrors I am using.

Step4: Add to the LED base

Here is a picture of the LED base I used.  It can be controlled by both USB or 3 AA batteries.  These mirrors fit perfectly into the slot on the base!

Before inserting it into the base I wipe down both the back and front of the mirror with glass cleaner.  The back may require a little more than the front to clean up any soot.

After inserting just turn the LED base on and enjoy!  It looks so much better in person.  Pictures do not do it justice!

Enjoy!
