Introduction

Butterfly Garden Light transforms a simple sheet of wood into an elegant three-dimensional décor piece. Delicate butterflies, flowing vines, and layered foliage create depth and movement, while the engraved base complements the intricate design. Precision laser cutting allows each element to fit together seamlessly, resulting in a lightweight centerpiece that is beautiful on its own by day and can be illuminated at night for a completely different look. This project showcases how laser cutting can turn flat materials into art that brings warmth and nature into any home. It is completely customizable with different vine and butterfly pieces.

How-to Tutorial

1

Step1: Cutting/Engraving

Cut the top and bottom base. Decide if you want it as a lantern. If so keep the cut circles on. If not delete that group. Next cut side pieces with or without butterly engraving. Finally, choose which vine flower pieces you want and how many butterflies. You can size the pieces just make sure you use the correct tab bottom which is 3mm. Ensure your wood is 3mm thick or adjust the cutouts.

Step2: Assemblage

Assemble base by gluing the tabs and adding the sides to the base. Glue top tabs and add on next. If adding light do not glue back panel on yet. Leave it open place light. Lighhtly fix back in slot without gluing so you can change batteries.  I used a push light that can easily be activated by pushing down a pen in the center of a cut circle to turn it on and off.
