How-to Tutorial
Step 1
Since embossing files are often large, it's recommended to use a USB flash drive for 3D Grayscale Embossing. To minimize waiting time, import the .lpb format file onto a USB flash drive beforehand.
1. Download the image or the .lp2 file and import it into your LDS PC.
2. Set your usual 3D embossing parameters (power, depth, frequency, resolution, etc.).
3. Export as .lpb file and save it to the flash drive.
4. Insert the flash drive into the machine.
5. Go back to the PC software and click the flash drive icon. (Alternatively, you can connect the LP5 to the LDS mobile app for embossing.)
7. Find the file and preview it.
8. Setting up a small fan right next to the cutting plate, and aiming it directly at the surface of your material. (This helps prevent dust residue from settling on the surface, beccause that residue can negatively affect your results.)
9. Engrave it on your material.
Note: Make sure to place the .lpb file in the "LaserPecker" folder on your USB flash drive so it can be easily found by the device.

Step 2
During the engraving process, an oxidation reaction may occur on the metal surface, often causing it to turn black. After the engraving is complete, polish the surface using a bench grinder, adjusting the angle frequently to achieve a smooth and uniform finish.
