Step 1 sanded the slate smooth and applied a very thin coat of satin black spray paint (optional)

let dry 10 mins
frame slate in LP design space and check focus
for slate always turn on invert if file is not already prepared with an invert
set desired settings for slate, sit back and wait ;)
