Boiled Eggs - Copper Label
How-to
The LP4 can cut thin aluminum and copper tape. You can make copper labels for glass, wood, or other things that need an attractive label. My wife wanted something other than a paper label for a clear plastic egg container in the refrigerator. A paper label can not be washed and would not survive condensation and humidity, plus paper labels are difficult to remove if you ever want to change them. Copper foil tape adheres tenaciously but can be removed without leaving residue. I've used copper tape labels on some of my woodwork overcoated with clear acrylic - looks very professional.
You can also cut stickers from copper tape that when applied to wood , burnished, and overcoated look like copper inlays.
Basic Information
How-to Tutorial
Step 1 Engrave
Using the painter tape, tape the copper tape down to a flat surface so it is flat.
Focus and preview the engraving, then start.
When finished, firstly clean the label with a soft cloth (NOT a paper towel, then use a sharp object to lift an edge of the cut, and peel the label off of the backing.
Place the label where you want it.
Place a piece of paper over the label, and burnish it strongly with something like the handle of a plastic screwdriver. Any wrinkles will smooth out.
If on wood, a coat of acrylic or varnish over the label is recommended.
