操作説明
ステップ 1 Turtle
The LaserPecker 5 fiber laser is very powerful, with only two passes needed to cut a 0.4mm Aluminum card, but the Design Space Software in FILL mode results in a very uneven finish since the FILL scan is always horizontal. In the 3D graphics mode, each layer scan is rotated 45 degrees such that with four layers, an even finish is obtained. The finish can be varied by clanging the frequency or by a slight defocus. In 3D Graphics mode, however, the minimum layer height that can be set is 0.01mm. For engraving metal, the layer height adjustment MUST be disabled by unplugging the Z-axis after focusing,
Preparing the image:
1. The drawing must be turned into a negative image. This CANNOT be done in Design Space but must be done with an external graphics program.
2. Load the negative image into Design Space
3. Use EDIT - Magic Eraser to remove the area outside of the image
4. Use OUTLINE set to 0 to draw a line around the image. The outline may be sifted a bit, if so, move it to the correct position.
5. Set the OUTINE to CUT METAL, 100% Power, 26kHz, 2 Passes, Depth 65, and then HIDE the outline. Note: Different finishes can be obtained using different frequencies and power. With a slight de-focus, a mirror finish can be obtained
6. Select the image, and EFFECT - 3D graphics - layers 10 to 13 (actually, any four layers where the image is clean - you will see that in the Hippo example)
7. Set 20% Power, 40kHz, Depth 10, Resolution 2K
8. Export the file to the USB stick.

| その他のパラメータ3D Graphics is used, rather than Fill, in order to get a uniform finish, FILL has only horizontal lines regardless of the number of passes which results in a very uneven finish. The 3D Graphics mode rotates the lines 45 deg for each layer, resulting in a very even finish with 4 Layers. A 3D sliced image is NOT required. After focusing, the Z axis must be unplugged to hold the focus since the layer height cannot be set to zero. It is noted that deep engraved text on metal can be significantly improved by converting the text to raster, using the 3D Graphics tool, and disabling the Z-axis after focusing. This is slower, but yields much improved deep engraved text. |

ステップ 2 Save the Outline Cut
1. Hide the turtle image
2. Un-hide the turtle cut outline.
3. Export the file to the USB stick with a different name.
ステップ 3 Engrave and Cut
The LP5 must be properly aligned perpendicular to the work area and the focus dots calibrated. The alignment can be checked with a level and the LP5 head adjusted if need be.
1. Plug the USB stick into the LP5
2, Place the Aluminum card; a fixture of some sort is a good idea to keep the card in position during the process.
3. Select and preview the Turtle image file, and adjust the focus - then unplug the z-axis so the focus doesn't change.
4. Engrave the Turtle - DO NOT MOVE THE CARD.
5. Select the CUT file from the USB stick, and cut out the Turtle.
ステップ 4 Hippo
The process for the Hippo is the same as for the turtle - with one exception - so I'm not going to repeat everything.
The exception is that the first few layers in the hippo drawing has "stuff" in the white area surrounding the drawing that appears when 3D Graphics is selected. I don't know where this come from, but I've seen the same on other line drawings. However, this "stuff" is only on the first layers, not on later layers. To get rid of it, move the layers bar until they disappear - layer 28 to 31 works fine.
